Volunteers

Volunteering is a fantastic way to learn new skills, expand your experience and use your current skills to make a difference to the Deaf people we support.

No matter if you are Deaf or hearing, you will have skills that can support our charity

The benefits to you of volunteering with EDS are that we can offer access to BSL, and direct insight to the Deaf community. You could also gain experience and learning of basic functions in and around the organisation, such as fundraising and back office roles.

EDS is committed to safeguarding and all staff and volunteers must be dedicated in this area as many of the people we support are isolated and vulnerable to ensure consistency.

We ask for a minimum volunteer time of 6 months. Some areas of our volunteering work will require an enhanced DBS check.

Our events and activities are many and varied and we always try to match our volunteers’ skills to those required by the project.

We are always interested in hearing from dedicated people with a passion for making a difference.
